Living in the mountains is wonderful! Gardening is another story.
I love the deer, squirrels, and birds; they love me too.
When I find the perfect tolerant plant for my planting zone, it seems to be the favorite flavor of the deer. The birds love to bite off tender greens and young stems for their nests. Squirrels dig, dig, dig my bulbs.
So, here is my solution for saving a few of my plants.
