Hi All!
Do you collect cardboard and scrap paper for re-use, or is it just me?
I made use of some of that old stuff and gave this little house to my daughter for her first Christmas in her new home.
Taking a gingerbread house pattern, I cut the shapes from cardboard, then with strips of old grocery bags glued inside along the edges and at the joints to make it strong.
The windows and door are backed with match sticks and parchment paper.
A small hole was cut in the back panel and covered with tissue paper. This allows a small light to be inserted.
The total size is 8 inches high by 6 inches long and 4 inches wide.
Finished with matte gel medium and brushed with glass bead gel medium.
Front view with paper windows and door, moss, twigs, and feathers |
Back view with pine cones, bark, flowers, and a little bird. Small hole pushed through tissue paper for light |
Side with cut pine cones and moss |
Paper, distress ink, glass bead gel medium, and moss |
Build yourself a little house and send me a picture to post!
Until next time,
Deb
